Poster locomotive bb27000
A digital drawing of the french locomotive BB 27000
The BB 27000 are part of the Alstom Prima family, with the BB 27300 and BB 37000 and E 37500. They have progressively replaced the ECC 6500, CC 7100, BB 8100 and BB 12000.
These locomotives are dual-current (1.5 kV DC and 25 kV 50 Hz) and all belong to the Freight activity (the BB 27300, derived from the BB 27000, are assigned to the Transilien activity). They operate with an asynchronous motorization.
With a central driver's cab, the controls are done via two computer consoles, as well as the controls of the locomotive parameters. They are also equipped with ATESS (the black box). Two exterior mirrors allow the train to be monitored while in motion.
The engines, suspended by the nose, rest on the axle of the locomotive via a barrel-box. This arrangement is perfectly suited for speeds up to 140 km/h. The transformers used to modify the current for the traction motors were manufactured by the former transformer factory in Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine. These transformers were manufactured under an Alstom order.
Two pantographs are responsible for collecting the current at the catenary: a single-phase pantograph for collecting the 25 kV 50 Hz and a continuous pantograph for collecting the 1.5 kV DC.
