A poster of the liner RMS "Titanic" calling at Cherbourg
The RMS Titanic was a White Star Line ocean liner that sank on her maiden voyage from Southampton, United Kingdom, to New York on the night of April 14–15, 1912.
The ship was considered a marvel of engineering and luxury at the time, and was one of the largest and most opulent ships ever built.
Titanic's voyage began on April 10, 1912, with over 2,200 passengers and crew on board. He reached Cherbourg in the evening, before heading for Ireland for his last stopover.
Despite multiple warnings of icebergs in the area, the Titanic sailed at high speed without taking adequate precautions to avoid a collision. Around 11:40 p.m. on April 14, the Titanic struck an iceberg and began to take on water.
Despite efforts to save the ship, the Titanic sank at 2:20 a.m., killing over 1,500 people in the disaster. In question, the lack of life rafts, yet in the standards of the time.
The sinking of the Titanic remains one of the most famous maritime disasters in history and has captured the public imagination for over a century.
