RMS Queen Elizabeth, sister ship of Queen Mary, was a British transatlantic liner that sailed for Cunard Line.

Launched in 1938, it was commissioned in 1940 and quickly mobilized during the Second World War. Used as a troop transport between the United States and the United Kingdom, it would not find a commercial career until after the war.

Following the Queen Mary principle, it is named in honor of Queen Consort Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, wife of King George VI and mother of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022).

314 meters long and 36 wide, this transatlantic moved 83,000 tons and could carry nearly 2,300 passengers. These 160,000 horsepower allowed it a maximum speed of 29 knots.

Retired in 1968, a fire broke out on board on January 9, 1972 in Hong Kong Bay. The boat was then abandoned and dismantled. His wreck also appears in the James Bond "The Man with the Golden Gun".
