Poster "pacific blue ocean" SSN french rubis class

A submarine on surface is always an astonishing sight. But when the "black boat" blends into the blue of the Pacific Ocean, the contrast is all the more striking!

The submarine shown here is an S.N.A. of the "Rubis" type in its current recast version (known as Améthyste recast) These submarines, born in the early 1980s, are still used in the French Navy. They will be gradually withdrawn from service in the 2020 decade to make way for "Suffren" type SNA-NG.

They will in turn be able to ply the translucent waters of the Pacific. No doubt the opportunity to work on a new version of this poster!
