The OPV 54 class is a series of patrol boats of the French Navy, built between 1994 and 1995 by the CMN shipyards. These vessels are 54 meters long, 10 meters wide, with a draft of 2.60 meters and an air draft of 20 meters. Their displacement is 315 tons, reaching 390 tons at full load. They are powered by two Deutz-MWM TBD 620 V 16 diesel engines of 2765 hp and two Deutz-MWM TBD 234 V 12 diesels of 850 hp, with two variable-pitch propellers, developing a total power of 7,300 hp and a maximum speed of 22 knots.

Their armament includes two 12.7 mm machine guns and a 10 bar water cannon. They have a range of 4,500 nautical miles at 12 knots. Equipped with two navigation radars (DRBN-34 and DRBN-38), they have a crew of 4 officers, 13 petty officers and 3 quartermasters and sailors.

The main mission of the OPV 54 patrol boats is maritime surveillance of the French exclusive economic zone, up to 200 nautical miles from the coast, including fisheries police missions, anti-pollution, and assistance and rescue at sea.

Three ships of this class are in service: the Flamant (P676), the Cormoran (P677) and the Pluvier (P678), all based in Cherbourg.
