The S-80 class, also named "Isaac Peral", first in class, is a type / class of conventional anaerobic-powered attack submarine manufactured by Navantia.

It is intended to replace the classic Agosta-class propulsion submarines equipping the Armada Espanola and whose entry into service was originally scheduled for 2015 before being postponed, due to design failures, to 2022. .

With a length of 81 meters and more than 11 meters wide, these submersibles have a submerged tonnage of nearly 4,000 tons. With their AIP propulsion system, they can stay several weeks in dives, and benefit from extremely silent propulsion.

The Isaac Peral class (in spanish "Submarino Isaac Peral" ) can dive over 400 meters, has 6 torpedo tubes, and carries 32 crew members.

4 units are planned in total, the "Isaac Peral" having just been launched in May 2021, and starting its tests until 2022.
