Poster history of "casabianca" submarines

It is a tradition in the French Navy to perpetuate the names of famous ships.

This is the case of the Casabianca, this 1,500-ton submarine which greatly distinguished itself during the Second World War by escaping from Toulon when the soldiers of Nazi Germany arrived in 1942.

The submarine will take an active part in the Resistance (supply missions with men and arms, information) and will be greatly illustrated for the liberation of Corsica in 1943.

Two other black boats will bear his name: the current Casabianca, Ruby-class Nuclear Attack Submarine, commissioned in 1987, and its successor, the Suffren-class, which should be launched by 2030.
