L'Inflexible is the sixth and last first generation nuclear submarine, launched in 1982. It is the sister-ship of the SSBN Le Redoutable, although a bit different.

It was put into service in 1985 and will be equipped with M4 missiles (with a range of 4000 km) from the beginning. In addition to its armament, the Inflexible offers a more hydrodynamic shape: sail plane and tower are more streamlined. It will be the only first generation SSBN to have the M45 missile in the 2000s, an improvement on the M4.

Decommissioned in 2008, L'Inflexible will have ended its career alongside SNLE-NG Type "Le Triomphant".

128 meters long and 10.60 meters wide, and a displacement of more than 8,000 tonnes, this first generation SSBN carried 16 nuclear missiles.

This poster comes from a series of 6 posters, directly inspired by the tampion of each building.

A tampion was originally a wooden stopper intended to protect artillery from moisture. Nowadays, it is a decorative object bringing together the symbols and strong values of the building it represents.

The poster was produced using Procreate and Ipad Pro in 2019.
