Poster submarine los angeles class
A digital drawing of the American submarine Los Angeles class
The Los Angeles class is a class of United States Navy nuclear attack submarines (SNA) which entered service between 1976 and 1996.
This class was built in sixty-two buildings ranging from SSN 688 Los Angeles to SSN 773 Cheyenne, making it the longest series of nuclear attack submarines.
The version shown here is the very first, a "Flight I", without vertical tubes intended for the tomahawk missiles.
More than thirty ships have been launched by the US Navy. They were decommissioned in favor of the more modern Los Angeles 688I, as well as the SNA of the Virginia class.
With a length of 110 meters and a tonnage of over 6,000 tonnes, they were among the largest nuclear attack submarines in the world.
