Poster tampion french frigate duguay-trouin
A Vintage style poster inspired by the official tampion of the F67 "Duguay-trouin" D611 type frigate
The Duguay-Trouin is a type F67 frigate of the French Navy, specialized in anti-submarine warfare, but also equipped for anti-aircraft defense and against surface ships. Launched on 1 June 1973, she entered active service on 17 September 1975. Based at Brest, she was assigned to various squadrons, including the Atlantic Wing and the Submarine Action Group, operating mainly in Atlantic.
During its 24 years of service, the Duguay-Trouin experienced two fires in 1983 and 1999, the latter being decisive due to repair costs and the National Navy's policy of downsizing. It was withdrawn from active service on July 13, 1999 and served as a breakwater near the Naval School in Lanvéoc-Poulmic until 2014. Then the ship was prepared for dismantling and transferred to the Landévennec cemetery in November 2014 .
Le Duguay-Trouin also played a role in the France Télévision television film "Peur sur la base" (2017), depicting the fictional ship La Constantine. It was replaced by the frigates Tourville and De Grasse at Lanvéoc-Poulmic, of the same class. In June 2018, the Galloo shipyard in Ghent, Belgium won the contract for the deconstruction of six ships, including the Duguay-Trouin. Its towing to Belgium was carried out in June 2020, followed by its dismantling in July of the same year.
