A Poster representing the "Félix Eboué" class, the new Overseas Patrollers of the French Navy
The Patrouilleurs Outre-mer, or "POM" are a series of six ships of the "Félix Éboué" class. They mark the renewal of the resources positioned overseas to protect the population and maritime areas.
Their missions are numerous: respect for French sovereignty, protection of national interests in the exclusive economic zones (EEZ) and their surroundings, but also the fight against illicit trafficking and State action at sea.
The POMs are 79.9 meters long and 11.8 meters wide. Their tonnage is 1,300 tons
They are armed by a crew of 30 sailors, equipped with hybrid thermal/electric propulsion, and equipped with a remotely operated 20mm cannon or even a surveillance radar.
A fixed-wing drone (the Navy's mini-drone system - SMDM) is also on board, a first for a French Navy ship.
