A digital drawing of the French frigate class Suffren
The Suffren class is a class of missile frigates (FLE) of the French Navy. It is a multi-purpose building designed to protect a naval force against threats from the air, surface ships, submarines and, to a lesser extent, provide fire support to land objectives.
<br/>It is the first class of French ships to be specially built as a missile frigate.
Two ships are built, the Suffren (1967) and the Dusquesne (1970). These units were withdrawn from Service in the late 2000s.
