Le Tonnant is the fifth french nuclear submarine, launched in 1977. It is the sister-ship of the SNLE Le Redoutable.

Le Tonnant took part in numerous missions, notably the "PILOU" exercise in 1994, aimed at testing the rescue of a submarine with the help of the American DSRV.

it is the first SNLE to be scrapped in Cherbourg in 2019.

128 meters long and 10.60 meters wide, and a displacement of more than 8,000 tonnes, this first generation SSBN carried 16 nuclear missiles.

This poster comes from a series of 6 posters, directly inspired by the tampion of each building.

A tampion was originally a wooden stopper intended to protect artillery from moisture. Nowadays, it is a decorative object bringing together the symbols and strong values of the building it represents.

The poster was produced using Procreate and Ipad Pro in 2019.
