L'Indomptable is the fourth nuclear submarine, launched in 1974. It is the sister-ship of the SNLE Le Redoutable.

It was commissioned in 1976 and will be equipped with M4 missiles during its major overhaul in 1987. It is decommissioned in 2005, making it the first generation SSBN having served the longest in the Strategic Oceanic Force. The Foudroyant will then have carried out 67 patrols and circled the Earth nearly thirty times.

128 meters long and 10.60 meters wide, and a displacement of more than 8,000 tonnes, this first generation SSBN carried 16 nuclear missiles.

This poster comes from a series of 6 posters, directly inspired by the tampion of each building.

A tampion was originally a wooden stopper intended to protect artillery from moisture. Nowadays, it is a decorative object bringing together the symbols and strong values of the building it represents.

The poster was produced using Procreate and Ipad Pro in 2019.
