In all the navies of the world, the motto of submariners is the same: "there are only two types of ships: submarines... and targets"
A motto to be taken with humor: each building - other than the submarine itself - is considered as a potential "target" (with a preference for gray boats, which often take part in detection exercises).
Note that a design of this motto has existed in France since the 1970s. It is brought up to date here featuring a SNA Suffren class firing an F21 torpedo at a target.
