The Dassault Mirage F1 is a fighter aircraft designed in France in the 1960s to meet the multirole needs of the French Air Force, which wanted a versatile aircraft for supersonic interception and low-altitude penetration missions. Unlike previous delta-wing Mirages, the F1 adopted a swept wing to improve its landing performance and low-speed maneuverability. After several prototypes and intensive development, the Mirage F1 entered service in 1973, becoming a key element of French air defense for several decades.

The Mirage F1 is available in several versions, including the Mirage F1C for fighter, the F1A for daytime attack, the F1B for two-seater training, and reconnaissance (F1CR) and assault (F1CT) variants. These models underwent various improvements, such as the addition of a radar warning detector and the ability to refuel in flight, which extended their service within the French Air Force until 2014.

The aircraft also met with international success, being exported to eleven countries such as Spain, Morocco and Libya. Some foreign customers modernized their Mirage F1s independently, adding new radars and advanced weapons systems. These modernizations allowed the Mirage F1 to remain in active service with several foreign air forces, where it continued to be operational well after its retirement in France.
