Poster "super constellation" air france
A poster of the Super Constellation in Air France colors
The Lockheed Constellation (Connie) is an 18-cylinder Wright R-3350 4-star propeller airliner. It was built by Lockheed between 1943 and 1958 at its factory in Burbank, California. A total of 856 aircraft were produced in several versions, all recognizable by the triple fin and the dolphin-shaped fuselage.
The Constellation is used as an airliner and as a military transport aircraft by the United States, particularly during the Berlin Airlift. It is the presidential plane of US President Dwight David Eisenhower.
Shown here in its Air France livery (and its old logo), the L-1049 Super Constellation is considered the best piston engine airliner. Its autonomy allowed it to fly from Paris to New York non-stop, making it the first French transatlantic and the incarnation of the Trente Glorieuses of French aviation.
Poster produced on Ipad and Procreate in December 2020.
