The Victoria class, originally known as the Upholder class or Type 2400, is a class of four submarines of British origin.

It is the 3rd generation of British diesel-electric powered submarines.

They were built by Vickers Shipbuilding and Engineering Ltd for the Royal Navy and have been operating since 2000 for the Royal Canadian Navy of the Canadian Forces. They served very little under the British flag, the end of the Cold War limiting their interest.

This class of submarine can officially dive above 200 meters, and remain submerged for 90 hours.

The announced autonomy is 49 days. The normal crew comprises 49 people, ie 25 sailors, 17 petty officers and 7 officers.

This class is very quiet with its anechoic coating made up of 22,000 tiles and its suspended auxiliary motors. Her classic teardrop-shaped single hull is constructed from high strength NQ1 steel, a derivative of HY80 steel, introduced in 1969 and still used in shipbuilding today.
