The HMS Rodney, a Royal Navy battleship of World War II, was named after Admiral George Brydges Rodney. It belonged to the Nelson class and played a crucial role in sinking the German battleship Bismarck. Despite Washington Treaty constraints, the Rodney had an unusual design with concentrated forward artillery and aft-located superstructures, leading to amusing nicknames.

Armed with 406mm main guns in three turrets, 152mm secondary guns, and anti-aircraft artillery, the Rodney participated in diverse wartime operations, including the 1941 Bismarck engagement and landings in North Africa and Normandy, offering crucial fire support.

Post-war, the Rodney was decommissioned and dismantled in 1948. Throughout its active service, the ship covered a remarkable distance and played a pivotal role in Allied naval endeavors.
