The Ariane 6 rocket is a launch vehicle developed by the European Space Agency (ESA) to launch payloads into Earth and interplanetary orbit. It will be able to launch satellites, space probes, exploration modules and other equipment into space.
The Ariane 6 rocket is designed to be more economical than current Ariane 5 launchers, thanks to a modular architecture and increased use of digital technologies. It can be configured with two or four boosters, depending on mission requirements. The boosters, as well as the first stage, work with solid propellant motors, while the second stage uses a liquid propellant motor.
Ariane 6 will be capable of carrying payloads weighing up to 10.5 tons in geostationary orbit and up to 21 tons in low Earth orbit. It will also be able to launch multiple payloads simultaneously thanks to its serial launch capability.
Its first launch is scheduled for the end of 2023. It will be launched from the Space Center in French Guiana, like the previous versions of Ariane.
Ariane 6 is a key element of Europe's space strategy to maintain its position as a world leader in space.
