Poster Monoplace "Caudron-Renault C 460" plane
A digital drawing of the 1934 plane "C.460" from Caudron-Renault
Single-seater racing, the Caudron C460 is the result of the meeting between the Caudron brothers and Louis Renault.
Composed of wood, magnesium and canvas, its lightness makes it a formidable weapon to beat all records. What it will do between 1934 and 1936, up to 500 km / h, then the fastest terrestrial machine in the world. Several other records will be broken by aviator Helene Boucher, a legend.
The plane measured 7.11 meters for a wingspan of 6.73 meters. The 6-cylinder engine developed between 330 and 380 horsepower for a mass of less than a ton.
This plane strongly inspired comic book designers, in particular Hergé.
