Le Redoutable was the first SSBN launched in 1967, under the leadership of General de Gaulle.
A strong sign of France's independence, the cornerstone of deterrence, the latter sailed in the French Navy until 1991. It is the only survivor of the series of the first six nuclear ballistic missile submarines, because since 2000 at the Cité de la Mer in Cherbourg.
Since 2002, the museum has offered tours of this submarine, the largest submersible open to the public in the world. This poster was produced to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Cité de la Mer in Cherbourg.
