A Poster featuring the famous WWII battleships: HMS Rodney
HMS Rodney was a Royal Navy battleship used in World War II, named in honor of Admiral George Brydges Rodney. She was the second and last ship of the Nelson class. The ship played a significant role in the destruction of the German battleship Bismarck.
Built with Washington Treaty limitations, HMS Rodney had an unusual silhouette with a concentrated artillery layout fore and centre, while the superstructures were thrown aft, earning her humorous nicknames .
Rodney's armament included 406mm main guns in three turrets, 152mm secondary artillery and anti-aircraft guns. He participated in various operations during the war, including the engagement against the Bismarck in 1941. He was also involved in landings in North Africa and Normandy, providing valuable fire support.
After the war, the Rodney was decommissioned and broken up in 1948.
