The Mogador, French destroyer of the Mogador class, is named after Essaouira in Morocco. Built from 1934 at the Lorient arsenal, she was launched in 1937 with her sister ship, the Volta. They embody the attempt of the French Navy to create ships capable of outperforming boats of lower tonnage thanks to an armament close to that of a light cruiser on a destroyer hull. 137.05 meters long, 12.57 meters wide and powered by two steam turbines producing up to 118,000 horsepower, she reached impressive speeds, up to 43.4 knots during trials.

Armed with four 138 mm double turrets, anti-aircraft artillery, torpedoes and anti-submarine grenades, it was integrated into the Raid Force at the start of the war, forming with the Volta the 6th destroyer division . Involved in escorting convoys and patrols, she suffered damage, particularly during the attack on Mers el-Kébir in 1940, but was repaired in Oran and then Toulon. Damaged by Allied bombing, she was finally scuttled in 1942, refloated but not repaired by the Italians in 1943, and sunk in 1944 in Toulon. Its demolition took place in 1949.
