A digital drawing of the conventional french attack submarine "Bévéziers" in dry dock.
The Agosta type submarines are the last class of French diesel-electric propulsion submarines.
Extremely modern, (they also share elements with the SNA Rubis) and replacing the "Narval", they were born in the mid-70's. Four units are produced for the French Navy: Agosta, La Praya, Bévéziers and Ouessant.
67 meters long for 1,500 tonnes, these submarines offer great versatility and extreme acoustic discretion in electric propulsion. They embark 54 crewmen for long-distance missions. Their efficiency will be recognized by different nations which will adopt them, in this case Pakistan and Spain, which will benefit from an improved version enlarged by 9 meters (Agosta 90B).
The building represented here is the Bévéziers, the second of the series, represented in profile on its end line.
